I continue my journey with thoughts. I studied a class on Eastern culture. From there, I began to explore and read more about the philosophies in Buddhism.
In particular, I was very impressed with the concept of "Emptiness" in Buddhism. Nothing in the world can cling forever to form, to impermanence. This led me to experiment with painting, focusing on expressing only lines, colors without depicting a specific form. Then I realized the journey is still very long, I describe a small image of a person, the "self" still clinging, amidst the vast space of spirituality, of the universe.
I want viewers of my paintings to ask questions, to contemplate in their own way, not necessarily to conform to the artist's intention. Everything in the world can be viewed through different perspectives, depending on the visual and internal reception of the subject. When I draw, I am often led far away from the initial sketch by the brush strokes. Everything is always in motion so that we can have free thoughts.
Is art vital? Who gets to make art?
